The library is an interesting place.
For starters there are the librarians. These are people who have chosen to pay their bills by checking out books and being good at placing things alphabetically. They are usually nice people who have good social skills. They seem to know quite a bit on a variety of subjects, probably from all the reading they do. I'm sure part of the criteria of the job is that they have to read at least 3 books a month. That'd be tough.
Then there are the library goers. There are those who are here to study, get a book or mess around on the internet. I've done all three but the majority of my time in the library is spent on the computers. Not always but usually the computers are all taken so you have to wait patiently on the side hoping that someone gets up soon. I hate it when you've been waiting for a computer for a good few minutes and some other student hoping for a computer comes along. They usually keep their eyes away from yours because if they made eye contact it would instantly acknowledge you as the next person in line for a computer. So what they usually do is keep their eyes glued to the computers hoping that in their first passby that someone will leave and they can snab it. This happened today. Some dude thought he could cut me. He started up his facebook and I came behind him and donkeypunched him right in the back of the head. That'll teach him to not cut in line.
Librarys have good bathrooms. My favorite bathroom is on the lower floor of the library. It's barely used so it's quite clean. I've started a conversation in pencil in one of the stalls so it makes my visits quite enjoyable.
Books are everywhere in the library. Lots of old ones too. Some old books are good. You can't say bad things about the classics but there are seriously a lot of lame books. The library got them for free most likely but honestly if I was in control there would be a mass book burning of some of these books. Who checks out a book called "The Crimson Edge: Older Women Writing" or "Ballads and Lyrics of Old France?" Straight to the incendiaries I say!
